Spot Interface Bracket

Excerpt/Intro Appears Here...

Client: AtkinsRéalis

Timeframe: 2 weeks (contract sign – delivery)

Quality Requirement: Sellafield Quality Grade 3

Overview: AtkinsRéalis have a sensor suite for deployment around Sellafield site utilising Boston Dynamics’ “Spot” Robot, which allows for multiple attachments to be mounted to its back. The attachments are difficult to swap out and maintain under hazardous environments, due to the mandated PPE and small fasteners and components required. Barrnon designed a customisable interface system which uses a low dexterity, quick release mechanism, to allow operators to safely swap out sensors easily in seconds.

The product was designed, CNC machined, tested, assembled, and delivered to the client within 2 weeks. Additional blank attachment plates were requested for attaching a further set of sensors to the robot.

Contract Value: £5,853.51 Excluding VAT per set of two interface plates (one SPOT robot set).
